Give a general statement about your teaching experience and interests and draw attention to areas where you feel you've made a significant contribution. Suggestions include:

  • Seminar/tutorial teaching (indicate level, number of hours and numbers of students for each)
  • Laboratory teaching, practical classes and fieldwork (see above)
  • Occasional 'guest' and other invited lectures
  • Development of teaching methods and materials (eg introduction of quality management processes, use of innovative teaching methods such as problem-based learning, developing e-learning materials, etc.)
  • Course organisation and preparation, including initiation and design of syllabus
  • Internal examining responsibilities and other assessment procedures
  • Supervision of projects, including taught postgraduate students
  • Reliable information on students' experience including methods of teaching assessment used by the department and yourself (eg feedback questionnaires, colleagues observations) and the results of these assessments
  • Other course-related responsibilities (eg role as a tutor and other pastoral care and voluntary activities with students)
